Wendy Brown-Baez

Wendy Brown-Báez is a writing instructor, poet and writer. She is the author of the writers' inspirational guidebook Heart on the Page: A Portable Writing Workshop. Her essay "Why We Write: The Wounded and Enduring" appeared in Poets & Writers Magazine July/August 2014 and her non-fiction piece "Pilgrimage" won WNBA’s 2016 national contest. She is the author of the poetry books Ceremonies of the Spirit and transparencies of light and her poetry and prose appear in numerous literary journals and anthologies, including The Litchfield Review, Mizna, Tiferet, Water~Stone Review, Talking Writing and The Heart of All That Is. Wendy was awarded McKnight and MN State Arts Board grants to teach writing workshops for youth in crisis and in non-profits. She leads writing for healing at Pathways and she is the executive editor of Volume 13 of the Saint Paul Almanac. Wendy taught a Restorative Justice class at Stillwater DOC as a member of the Mn Prison Writing Workshop and also is part of the Writing to Wholeness Collective, writing workshops for survivors of personal violence. www.wendybrownbaez.com
