Explore the craft of memoir writing by studying techniques from Javier Zamora's Solito and Maggie O’Farrell’s I Am, I Am, I Am. Learn how to effectively tell your life's story, address common memoir challenges, and utilize journal entries. Develop compelling narratives, dialogue, and character descriptions, even from vague memories. Discover strategies for framing your story, deciding on content, and handling sensitive family secrets. Participate in in-class writing exercises, workshops, and receive personalized guidance from the instructor. For the first class, read Solito’s diary entries from March 16-17 and April 5-6, 1999 and the first chapter of I Am, I Am, I Am.
