ClassQuantum Poetics: The SpaceTime of Audre Lorde
This craft seminar is inspired by Audre Lorde's interest and participation in the generation of infinite interventions into linear space and time, including within and between the lines of her poetry. Drawing from Lorde's final collection of poems The Marvelous Arithmetics of Distance we will be writing our own interventions into spacetime together using a series of generative prompts, partner exercises and group activities. Come prepared not only to write and discuss but to breathe and move.
About the book: In Survival Is a Promise, Alexis Pauline Gumbs, the first researcher to explore the full depths of Lorde’s manuscript archives, illuminates the eternal life of Lorde. Her life and work become more than a sound bite; they become a cosmic force, teaching us the grand contingency of life together on earth.
