Apply to Miami Book Fair's 2026-2027 Emerging Writer Fellowships

Miami Book Fair's Emerging Writer Fellowships program is open for submissions. The fellowship is designed for currently unpublished writers who are working to complete a book-length manuscript during their 12-month residency in Miami, Florida. Each selected fellow receives a $54,000 stipend, one-on-one mentorship from a nationally recognized author in their genre, professional development opportunities, including teaching creative writing, and meaningful community engagement in Miami. Applicants must be actively working on a manuscript they intend to complete during the fellowship year. For the 2026–2027 cycle, two fellows will be awarded: 1) the Emerging Writer Fellowship for Prose (fiction or nonfiction) and 2) the Mindich Fellowship for Jewish Fiction. There is no application fee. The deadline for applications is May 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
