Hope Begins with a Story: Volunteer Writing Teachers Needed

Write to Hope is looking for compassionate volunteer writing teachers to help bring mindful writing opportunities to incarcerated men and women in Minnesota county jails.

No previous teaching experience is required. We welcome writers, educators, artists, professionals, retirees, and community members who believe in the power of storytelling, reflection, and human connection.

Volunteers lead guided writing workshops that encourage self expression, healing, and personal growth through poetry, journaling, memoir, fiction, and other creative writing practices.

Training, curriculum support, and shadowing opportunities are provided.

We are currently expanding into additional county facilities and piloting programming for women in domestic abuse shelters.
