Professional Editors Network
April 8, 2020

When: Tuesday, April 14, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Where: Online via Zoom (see registration link above)

How can an aspiring editor break into the profession? What can a career veteran do to keep their skills fresh or expand into a brand-new area? From internships to conferences to individual classes, certificate programs, and degrees, there are lots of options out there! Come learn about them, ask your questions, and figure out what might be right for you.

The following panelists will be speaking and answering questions about their educational experiences at this event.

Erin Servais is a past attendee of the ACES: The Society for Editing annual conference in addition to a variety of online courses. She is a book editor, author coach, and founder of Dot and Dash LLC, an author-services company helping women writers reach their publishing dreams. She lives in Minneapolis with her hockey-playing husband, her two old cats, and her odd-shaped dog. Erin is a member of PEN.

Allison Juda is a graduate of the Denver Publishing Institute. Since her time at DPI, she has worked at several school and library publishers, with roles including photo researcher, editor, product planning editor, and manager of partnership management. She is currently an editor at Bearport Publishing.

Kellie M. Hultgren, owner of KMH Editing, has freelanced for more than a decade as an editor and consultant for publishers, corporations, and writers. Before working in-house at several Twin Cities publishers, she attended the Radcliffe (now Columbia) Publishing Course, and she earned her MA in Liberal Studies--Publishing from Hamline University in 2008. She has also completed a variety of courses, webinars, and workshops. Kellie is a member of PEN and the Editorial Freelancers Association and vice president of the Minnesota Book Publishers' Roundtable board.
