Writing Workshop "From Your Own Roots" with Florient Jousse Oct.11, 1 pm

Drawing from anecdotes or real people, we will endeavor to write our own family mythologies, taking time to celebrate where we come from. This writing workshop is led by French playwright, actor, and director Florient Jousse - who is in the Twin Cities for this special event and his production Flamboyants!

Florient is an actor, playwright and director, now based on Réunion Island.  He created La Compagnie Tilawcis in 2020 and is now on his second U.S. tour with the company. He has immersed himself in researching everything about Réunion Island, including the history, cultures, spiritualities and language and from there has been able to interpret this research into organic writing and theatrical productions. 

Oct. 11, 1 - 4 pm at 227 Colfax Ave. N. Minneapolis. Cost for this workshop is $60, $55 for AFMSP members.  Children ages 9 - 17 can attend for $25 with a paid adult.  Please contact Valerie at [email protected] if you would like to register a child.
