Lisa's publications include more than 50 nonfiction children's books, four middle-grade "choose your path" sports novels, and the adult history book Faribault Woolen Mill: Loomed in the Land of Lakes. Accolades include two Honorable Mentions for the McKnight Artist Fellowship in Children's Literature (YA), two Minnesota State Arts Board grants, the MNSCBWI Writing Mentorship, and The Loft's Shabo Award. Lisa retired from education after 25 years; she worked with students ages 5 to 70 from around the world. Originally from Colorado, she's lived in México, Italy, and Japan; she currently resides in Southern Minnesota. She's a mom to girl/boy twins and is wife to a guy who also loves to read.
