Andrew Peterson
Andrew Peterson brings more than 30 years of experience in film production, arts leadership, education, and exhibition. He currently serves as Executive Director of FilmNorth, the leading filmmaker support organization in the Upper Midwest, where he has overseen significant organizational growth and expanded the organization’s role as a regional and national film industry leader.
Andrew also serves as Director of Programming for the Provincetown International Film Festival, a position he has held since 2006. During his tenure, the festival has become a major destination on the international festival circuit and one of only a select group of U.S. festivals recognized as Academy Award–qualifying in multiple categories.
From 2008 to 2012, Andrew served as Vice President of Production for Werc Werk Works, where he co-produced acclaimed feature films including Rob Epstein & Jeffrey Friedman’s Howl, Todd Solondz’s Life During Wartime, Jill Sprecher’s Thin Ice, and Lawrence Kasdan’s Darling Companion. His additional producing credits include World and Time Enough, Older Than America, and the segment “This Car Up” from Boys Life 4: Four Play.
Andrew earned an MFA from New York University Graduate Film School, where he was recognized as Best Director and Best Screenwriter. He has taught filmmaking at Macalester College and Middlebury College, and regularly serves on festival and industry juries and panels, and consults independent films, arts organizations, and film festivals nationwide.
