ClassCraft Seminar: Your Manuscript Feels Publication-Ready. Are You?
Whether you’re aiming for traditional publication or are excited to self-publish, many writers understand how to prepare a manuscript for publication, but readying themselves to be their book’s ambassadors is a trickier quest. In this energetic and uplifting class that will blend lecture with group exercises and skits, the acclaimed author of six books (including “Before and After the Book Deal”) will teach the following real-world skills to writers:
-The importance of loglines: Why it’s essential to have a one-sentence summary of your manuscript at the ready, and how to write a good one.
-IRL pitching: How to talk about your book out loud.
-Beyond the author bio: Why author bios are more important—and creative!—than you think.
-Building an author brand before you have one. Learn how to answer the dreaded “So, what do you write about?” question with an answer that feels true to you and the work you’re passionate about.
This class is appropriate for writers of all genres at all stages of their careers. Please bring something to write with and something to write on and be prepared to scheme, dream, and laugh.
