ClassQueer Poems of Protest
There is no single path to poetry or protest. Queer and trans writers of color have historically resisted exclusion in literary spaces by creating art that both uplifted and liberated their communities.
We will study examples of protest poetry written by these writers, both historical and contemporary, and practice writing poems to honor our own paths of protest. We'll also examine definitions of identity in ways that provide agency to each other and ourselves. Join us on a journey of discovery as we rewrite the rules of poetry and who gets to write it.
