Scene: the Drama Builder! (for Ages 15-18)

You have your amazing plot, your fascinating characters, your vivid setting … now it’s time to inject some real drama into your story. And how do you do that? Through SCENE!

In this workshop, we’ll use the building blocks of scene—conflict, action, dialogue, description—to make your plot and characters come alive. We’ll talk about how to bring excitement to your action sequences and how to make those smaller, more emotional moments hit the reader right in the feels. Each student will leave the workshop with a scene they’ve written! Feel free to bring a scene from your one stories or novels to work on, or write a brand-new scene from the ground up!
