Spend a full day with your writing! This online retreat combines group discussion, readings, warm-ups, and prompts with quiet writing time to help you make real progress and build a more consistent writing practice. Bring an existing project of any type or start something new.

Schedule:

9:00 - 9:45am | Introductions, a short reading, writing warm-up, and intention-setting for the morning block

9:45 - 10:00am | Optional grounding meditation

10:00 - 12:15pm | Morning writing session (option to leave your camera on for body-doubling)

12:15 - 12:45pm | Check-in, with the option to read a bit of your work for encouraging feedback

12:45pm - 1:45pm | Lunch and movement break: Eat, walk, stretch, solo dance party, whatever you need to recharge

1:45 - 2:15pm | Afternoon pep talk, free-write, and intention-setting

2:15 - 4:15pm | Afternoon writing session

4:15 - 5:00pm | Closing: Option to share, plus a commitment for the weeks ahead

Each monthly retreat stands alone and you can sign up for one, two, or all three. Materials and exercises vary from session to session, so attending more than one won’t mean an exact repeat.

Students will leave each retreat with:

-New generative writing
-Inspiration and writing exercises
-A renewed commitment to creative practice

All classes listed on the Loft website take place in Central Time.
