ClassIntroduction to Narrative Podcast Writing
In an era when everyone seems to have their own podcast, how do you write one that stands out? This class will introduce writers to the unique tips and tricks of writing for this increasingly popular audio form. How do you balance showing with telling? How many characters are too many characters? How does a narrative podcast differ from an audiobook? We'll answer these questions and more as we explore examples of podcast storytelling in a variety of genres. Writers will learn about what makes narrative podcasting unique, story development techniques, audio writing craft, and production insights that can help us craft polished scripts. This class will balance instruction with discussion, and we'll hone our skills with a few in-class writing exercises along the way.
