4-Week Workshop: Short Fiction

In a way, reading a short story can feel like speed dating, or an otherwise seasonal relationship. But in the brief time we spend with the characters, we learn what makes them who they are and become a part of their lives. In this class, we’ll discuss ways to maximize the limited space and efficiently tell your stories using voice, character, conflict, setting and more. Each student will have 2 opportunities to submit their stories for workshop. We'll read works by Anthony Veasna Snow, Amy Bloom, and Brenda Peynado.
