An Introduction to Spoken
I am a self-publishing sci-fi writer, and I wanted to share what my storyteller colleagues and I have created.
It's a service called Spoken which introduces a new business model for writers to self-publish, stream, socialize and monetize the audio of their works. Our promise to writers is that 50% of a listener's subscription will go directly and proportionally to the writers they listen to. You can read a piece I posted yesterday about the impact this could have on the self-publishing audio world.
As a "Spotify meets Instagram for writers," Spoken gives you a dedicated channel for streaming your works with unprecedented social elements. You can publish your existing studio recordings on Spoken, but we've also created the most innovative and low-cost technology platform for generating audio, including multi-cast. We have over 150 AI clones of voice actors who get paid for every use, and the ethical use of AI is central to our approach.
Our free beta is available now. When you click "Create" you'll be asked to tell us a little bit about yourself, and then we'll approve you so you can publish and share with your followers. And rest assured, we don't take any rights from you, and you can remove your account or your works at any time.
We look forward to seeing you there!
