Saint Paul Almanac 20th Anniversary print anthology (prose submissions - deadline Oct 9, 2024)
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
The 20th anniversary edition of the Saint Paul Almanac anthology is open for submissions!
We're looking for stories and poems that illuminate the human condition, from writers who live locally in the Twin Cities, and around Minnesota. We welcome a wide range of topics in the form of stories, personal essays, short memoir, and poems that are told from the slant of your own experience; we accept creative non-fiction (CNF), fiction, and poetry. We welcome a range of emotions, from humor to outrage, from sorrow to celebration, and themes that vary from struggle to triumph. Our group of editors look for work that makes us think, moves us, or surprises us, and we're especially interested in those voices that are often missing. You may submit one work of prose and up to three poems, but only the best piece will be accepted for publication. We recommend you check out the digital magazine to see what types of stories we have published: Saint Paul Almanac-The Magazine | literary arts magazine
Saint Paul Almanac wants to amplify YOUR voice! We're seeking prose for our 20th Anniversary print edition from YOU, those who are living in the Twin Cities and around Minnesota from the following communities and movements: BIPOC writers across generations, disabled writers, trans writers, social justice activists/writers, writers engaged in social movements, writers living in tent cities, writers experiencing homelessness, writers encountering food insecurity, writers who are immigrants, writers who are refugees, writers from marginalized groups, and visionary writers who can articulate how disparate communities can work together to create harmony and unity in a discordant world.
Only one submission per writer will be accepted. No names on the file name or on the manuscript or in the Submission Name.
It is only possible to have either one poem from your submission or one work of prose accepted per writer.
Poetry submissions closed on Sept 21.
Prose submissions close Oct 9, 2024.
