Class8-Week: Introduction to Digital Storytelling
Digital stories build self-awareness, create community, and give voice to those who have not been heard. While there are many kinds of digital stories, this class focuses on how to create a short video that combines oral narration, visuals, and music to tell a compelling story.
The class will cover everything you need to know to create a short video based on a life experience. Topics include finding your story; structuring scripts; writing concisely for video; storyboarding; working with images and sound; and editing for pacing and impact. You'll assemble and share your story using an accessible video editing program. Class time includes explanation of techniques, discussion of your video drafts, and hands-on work time.
The teaching artist will offer an additional free session on March 25 for any interested students to complete their projects and meet with the teaching artist.
All Classes listed on the Loft website take place in Central Time.
