As writers find new spaces for our work online—whether that's in a newsletter or a blog; on Substack, Patreon, or a personal website—there's a critical need for us to rethink how we write and present our writing.

Online spaces are wonderful channels for distribution, and also specialized mediums that require their own attention to craft. Writing online requires different approaches, because people don't read the same way on screens as they do on paper. Your prose may be stunning, but if people are scrolling past it, will they come back and read more? Will they subscribe to your newsletter, or pay you?

In this interactive workshop, which is suitable for emerging and established writers, you'll learn strategies to adapt your writing for whatever online spaces you live in—and also gather ideas about places you can write. We'll examine models of effective online writing, practice writing and revising your own work, and discuss strategies for attracting readers to your writing.
