When we read, we don't simply analyze a story—we feel it. Have you ever thought about how a writer embeds that experience into their craft? That's exactly what this class focuses on: how you can mold your own writing in order to give readers a certain emotional response to it. Breaking down tone, diction, and sentence structure, you'll examine and rearrange a short piece of your own writing until it hits the way you intend. We'll end with a discussion on emotional outlines and how you can apply these same techniques to longer works.

All Classes listed on the Loft website take place in Central Time (CT); please adjust to your own time zone accordingly.
