Marlie McGovern

Marlie McGovern is an essayist and educator. She is fascinated by the relationship of body and mind to words and creative potential. Marlie approaches writing and reading as embodied contemplative practices. Her personal writing practice and classroom pedagogy center on writing as a process of discovery, exploration, and connection. Marlie is the author of A Body Made of Eyes: Contemplative Essays (Wisdom Body Publications, 2022). Her reviews of books by contemporary women authors have appeared in Rain Taxi and CALYX. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing & Poetics from Naropa University and has taught writing at Naropa University and the Colorado School of Mines. She has over a decade of experience teaching meditation and mentoring contemplative educators.
