ClassBeginning Again: Intentional Writing for Process, Prose and Healing
Based in the traditions of lovingkindness and mindfulness, this heart-centered workshop provides a safe and welcoming retreat space for writers to explore their relationship to intention, balance, vulnerability, empathy, and the role they play (or don't) on and off the page. Whether you are here for process, personal healing, inspiration, or all of the above, this workshop welcomes all genres where students can expect to gain insight into character development, self as writer, forgotten details, and embodied healing while accessing subconscious images, feelings and words to energize your writing practice and outcome. Through deepening rounds writing together to the sound of the bell, we’ll practice sending our words of support to ourselves, others, our writing, our readers, our characters (including antagonists!), and many more as far at the heart can send them, resulting in singing prose as you go deeper into your subconscious and waking mind. We’ll take time to talk about how to integrate today's teachings and healing into your home writing practice and how to directly apply today’s practice to your writerly intentions including new and existing works-in-progress, as well as how to begin again in returning to abandoned or forgotten projects.
All Classes listed on the Loft website take place in Central Standard Time (CST); make sure you understand your time zone, and adjust accordingly
