2024 Hubbs Children's Literature Conference at the University of St. Thomas (Feb 24)

Join the School of Education for the Hubbs Children's Literature Conference on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the O'Shaughnessy Education Center Auditorium (OEC) on the St. Paul campus at the University of St. Thomas! The annual Hubbs Children's Literature Conference is designed for parents, teachers, students, librarians, writers and others interested in encouraging the use of quality children's literature in homes, schools and communities.

Featured authors for the 30th year of the conference are V.T. Bidania and Juana Martinez-Neal. The event will include Featured Author Talks and an Author Panel with Q&A time.  The author panel will include the featured authors as well as Heather Bouwman and Shayla Reaves. Book signing will also be available. 

Purchase tickets to enjoy these award-winning authors and illustrators whose books have made an impact in classrooms across the U.S. and beyond. General Admission tickets are $45. Non-St. Thomas students can purchase tickets for $25. St. Thomas students, faculty, and staff can attend for free, but registration is still required. 

Books by our featured authors will be available to purchase on the day of the event through Black Garnet Books, a Black-owned and operated bookstore. Black Garnet Books exists to address racial inequality within the publishing and literary industries, both nationally and within the state of Minnesota.
