Creative Writing Institute at The American University of Paris

Join us at AUP’s Summer Creative Writing Institute to write and share your work under the guidance of highly accomplished faculty. From the quaint cafes that once hosted literary giants to the Seine River’s poetic backdrop, students in the Summer Creative Writing Institute benefit from the city’s atmosphere which has long been home to aspiring writers. Enrolled students select from writing workshops in Poetry, Fiction, or Creative Nonfiction, all of which are designed to help students to read their own work objectively, develop a critical vocabulary, and work deeply on issues of craft.

We are also pleased to offer three competitive travel stipends of up to €500 each to outstanding Creative Writing Institute students. Students wishing to be considered for these stipends will need to submit additional application materials and should be in contact with us for further information at [email protected]. The deadline to be considered for a travel stipend is April 15, 2024.
