In this class we will be learning how to make comics and small analog zines. Around half of each class will be dedicated to learning the fundamental building-blocks of comics (image, text, panels, and the comic page, along with others) and how to use them effectively. The other half will be for drawing and experimenting together in making our own comics. During this time, I will be available to answer questions and work one-on-one with students. Students do not need to have any prior experience in drawing or in writing. Students should bring any art supplies they would like to use, but a basic pen/pencil and paper is more than enough.

No class on July 2.

This class takes place in-person, at the Loft at Open Book; we encourage participants to be fully vaccinated and masked in the interest of everyone’s safety. Please see the Loft’s website for the most up to date information about the Loft’s COVID policies.
