Unleash the power of your unique voice and learn how to use it as an instrument to create impactful spoken-word poetry. From discovering your core values to creating poetry tie-dye t-shirts, and using affirmation cards for inspiration, you will leave this in-person workshop feeling empowered to share your instrument (voice) with your community! You will take home a poetry tie-dye t-shirt, affirmation card, and a lantern to show as a reminder of your newfound creativity and poetry pride!

This drop-off camp is offered during MSP's MEA break and designed for students in grades 4-6. Consider registering for a Minnesota Center for the Book Arts workshop in the morning, Suminagashi Paper Marbling: Ages 9-12 here, for a full day of visual and literary arts in Open Book! Campers attending both workshops must bring lunch from home. To experience the full day, please register for Lunch Time Care here; Loft and MCBA staff will facilitate lunch and a brief field trip outside (weather permitting). Space is limited.

Please email [email protected] if you have any accessibility requests for this class. This class takes place in-person, at the Loft at Open Book; we encourage participants to be fully vaccinated and masked in the interest of everyone’s safety.
